The first official contract on cooperation on environmental subjects between Norway and the Soviet Union was signed in 1988. Four years later the contract was renegotiated, and the new agreement on environmental protection was signed in Kirkenes September 3rd 1992.
So far, this collaboration has resulted in more than 200 environmental projects and programmes. Hundreds of people have been involved, representing a huge amount of knowledge and capability that needs attendance. There will be lots of challenges in the years to come.
On this website you can read more about the Norwegian-Russian collaboration, its history, organization, and plans for the future. You will find addresses to all the departments that are involved. In the future we also intend to place some reports and protocols, which can be downloaded for free.
